Responsibilities & Duties:

  • Greet and engage customers

    • Warmly greet all people who come into the shop. 

    • Take their orders and/or guide them through OMC's menu with patience and confidence, making sure their coffee curiosities and cravings are met as best we can.

    • Prepare drinks at a good tempo, not “in the weeds,” nor lethargically.

    • When there’s a line, we think of unique ways to make people feel seen and acknowledged while they’re waiting.

  • Make coffee and tea, and serve baked goodies

    • Work together to prepare and serve from our menu of regular and  seasonal coffees, teas, and other house-made drinks in a variety of brewing methods, simple to intricate.

    • Regularly taste, evaluate, and “dial-in” OMC’s offerings to ensure every drink is beautifully served, meets the standards of deliciousness and will make our customers’ days (and yours too!).

    • Show respect and attention to detail for the recipes we have created and dialed in together.

  • Keep the shop clean and stocked

    • Work together to keep the space stocked, clean, beautiful, and welcoming for everyone. This includes but is not limited to clearing tables and washing dishes, sweeping, dusting, mopping, cleaning and stocking the condiment bar, and taking out trash, recyclables, and compost as needed.

  • Participate in OMC’s love of the seasons in any of the following ways

    • Make or add to music playlists. 

    • Help decorate the shop.

    • Brainstorm, create and taste yours and others’ seasonal drinks and/or flavors.   

    • Limited only by your creativity

  • Actively contribute to meetings, trainings, and field trips

    • Attend coffee and tea tastings and various trainings to develop palate and skills

    • Participate in interpersonal skills training

    • Regular operations 

You Have:

  • Availability to work mornings, weekends and on or about some holidays

    • We will be open 7 days a week with shifts starting as early as 5 AM and ending as late as 6 PM.  

    • Full-timers will work 40 hours per week, with part-timers at 20-25 hours per week.

  • Massachusetts Food Handler’s certificate (or we will help you get certified once hired)
